New Feeding Station

Well not really but by sprinkling a little food in and around the hide at Bretton it's been possible to tempt all the regular free-loaders in for breakfast. On their way they have to stop at one of several natural perches giving plenty of opportunities for pictures. The only problem is forgetting to check for the kingfishers, and indeed I was concentrating so hard on the Dunnocks at one stage this morning that I totally missed one sat just ten feet away! Solution - a second camera of course. So that's Christmas sorted!

Norfolk Weekend

A couple of drunken days in damp East Anglia was never likely to produce anything of note but there are one or two captures from the Sunday - the only sun day.

Farewell Summer

Or should that be good riddance? It's hardly been one for the books though I'm struggling to remember a summer that has been in recent years.

It doesn't seem like two minutes since the arrival of springtime and all those warblers at Bretton - not to mention the demise of my lens and the ensuing nine weeks of frustration. Well that's all history now as will this Chiffchaff be in a short while.

The species was about in great numbers at the park this week in preparation for departure, and whilst this is nowhere near my best work I felt duty bound to post one last shot before they begin their epic journey south. Farewell and bonne chance guys!
